Small dishes and unhurried hours at the breakfast table.

About

The Long Breakfast is an independent personal blog about slow breakfasts and weekend brunch, written by Nadia Ferrante. I write about the food on the table and the unhurried hours people spend around it.

I am interested in why some meals make conversation easy while others keep interrupting it. Breakfast offers plenty to think about, from the texture of a sesame ring to the small decision to bring another pot of tea.

I work through one subject at a time, mixing personal preferences with practical observations about cooking and sharing food. When I include background on a dish or custom, I link to supporting reading and leave room for the variations that a single account cannot capture.
